Constituted in March 2008, UNITY CORNWALL is the first Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) lead organisation in the county and still remains the only BME lead organisation. Our purpose being to create an equal society for all. We are a collective of people from a variety of cultural backgrounds and walks of life, concerned about the lack of positive action taken by statutory organisations and other agencies to fully engage with the BME community of Cornwall. We are especially concerned about the lack of dedicated services for our children and young people from BME backgrounds. UNITY is looking at ways to develop long-term strategies for the delivery of appropriate services to Children, Young People and their families. UNITY is keen to work closely with local authorities and other agencies to help achieve a momentum of positive change. We also support an Anti-Racism agenda. UNITY CORNWALL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE meet on the first Wednesday of each month. All meetings are held from 6.00 - 7.30pm. If you would like to attend, please call 01872 264232 or email us on:
